O Beautiful Flower of Carmel, most fruitful vine, splendor of heaven, holy and
singular, who brought forth the Son of God, still ever remaining a pure virgin,
assist us in our necessity! O Star of the Sea, help and protect us! Show us that
you are our Mother!
"Star of the Sea is one of the most ancient titles of Our Lady, going back to
St. Jerome and the earliest centuries. The title occurs also in the Alma
Redemptoris Mater : the music `Porta manes et stella maris' is found in a codex
of the ninth century.
This novena started on July 7th. I was on vacation and was not able to post. The Feast Day is July 16th. You can always pray a novena and receive the graces regardless of the date.
